American Airlines Cancellation Policy due to Coronavirus

With the recent outbreak of Coronavirus around the world, traveling has become difficult for passengers. And with the recent ban to certain destinations, the airlines are required to cancel or change the flight schedules.   • As per the airline policy, the passengers who have booked reservations before 1st March 2020 and are scheduled to travel until April 30, an option to cancel their booking and rebook their flight with paying any change fee.

  • Further, the airline is offering a refund for the reservations that include flights to the United Kingdom, Itlay, South Korea, Hong Kong, and China depending on the date of purchase. 

  • And in the case of Award tickets, passengers are offered a waiver at the time of cancellation. Still, as per the standard policy, the passenger is required to pay $150 for the first ticket and $25 for each additional ticket.
